Volunteer with us
We have a number of volunteer roles we are looking to have filled with Queer Stability. Take a look below and fill out the form if you are interested in volunteering with us. Thank you for being you!
Roles
Front Desk / Greeter Volunteer
Help create a warm, welcoming first impression at Queer Stability Foundation. Front Desk / Greeter Volunteers welcome visitors, assist with check-in and building access, answer basic questions about programs and events, direct guests to the right space or team member, and help keep the front desk organized and inviting. This is a great role for someone who is friendly, dependable, comfortable meeting new people, and committed to creating an affirming environment for LGBTQIA2S+ community members and allies; no previous front desk experience is required, and orientation will be provided.
Volunteer Coordinator
Help Queer Stability Foundation build a welcoming, organized, and engaged volunteer community. The Volunteer Coordinator supports volunteer recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, communication, recordkeeping, and matching volunteers with opportunities based on their interests, skills, availability, and location, while also helping staff identify volunteer needs and recognize volunteer contributions. This recurring leadership role is ideal for someone who is organized, approachable, comfortable coordinating people and schedules, confident using email, calendars, forms, and spreadsheets, and interested in nonprofit leadership, volunteer management, community engagement, or organizational development.
Community Ambassador
Serve as a local connector between Queer Stability Foundation and your community. Community Ambassadors help build relationships with residents, LGBTQIA2S+ community members, businesses, nonprofits, schools, service providers, civic groups, and local leaders; share Queer Stability programs and opportunities; identify community needs and resources; and help us understand how we can show up locally in meaningful ways. We are seeking ambassadors connected to Tacoma, Puyallup/Sumner, Lakewood, Gig Harbor, University Place, Puyallup & South Hill, Parkland, Port Orchard, Olympia, Maury/Vashon, Graham/Yelm, Centralia/Chehalis, and Orting; this role is ideal for relationship-builders who live, work, volunteer, or are strongly connected to one of these communities.
Outreach Specialist Volunteer
Help Queer Stability Foundation build relationships and connect more people with programs, resources, events, and opportunities throughout the South Puget Sound region. Outreach Specialist Volunteers may represent Queer Stability at community events and resource fairs, share outreach materials, develop relationships with businesses and nonprofit partners, identify collaboration opportunities, connect community members with resources, and help us better understand emerging community needs. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships, following up on connections, and representing an LGBTQIA2S+-affirming organization in the community.
Office Administration Volunteer
Support the behind-the-scenes work that keeps Queer Stability Foundation organized and moving forward. Office Administration Volunteers may assist with data entry, electronic and physical file organization, meeting and event materials, contact lists, mailings, research, office supplies, registration, and other special projects based on organizational needs. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable with basic office technology, able to work independently after receiving direction, and interested in helping strengthen the infrastructure of a growing community-focused nonprofit.
