Join us for upcoming events with Queer Stability

Queer Stability is building long-term stability and wealth within the LGBTQ+ community by creating spaces, systems, and opportunities where queer people and our allies can thrive. Through a mix of giving circles, property acquisition, and business investment, Queer Stability supports both nonprofit and for-profit ventures that strengthen our collective future.

By pooling resources through community giving and reinvesting in local organizations, Queer Stability ensures that LGBTQ+ individuals, businesses, and nonprofits have access to the capital, property, and partnerships needed for lasting impact. Our mission is simple: to create permanence in place for our community so that queer spaces, businesses, and people can grow, prosper, and remain rooted where they belong.

Grant Writing Workshops

Nonprofits and public agencies invest time writing competitive proposals, but the strongest grant applications start long before clicking apply.

This free 3-part series walks you through the full arc of grant-readiness: designing a program worth funding, planning how you'll prove it works, and writing an application that gets noticed.
Whether you're new to grant seeking or looking to sharpen your organization's process, join us for one session or all three.

Day 1 (8/21/2026 2:30PM - 4:00PM): Social Service Program Strategy & Design
Leave with a roadmap for building the programmatic foundation funders look for: clear goals, a logical program model, and alignment between what you do and what you're requesting.

Day 2 (9/4/2026 2:30PM - 4:00PM): Evaluation Planning
Outcomes matter more than outputs. Learn how to plan for outcomes and data collection before you apply, so your evaluation section is backed by a real plan, not an afterthought.

Day 3 (9/18/2026 2:30PM - 4:00PM): Grant Writing Do's & Don'ts
Practical guidance for turning your strategy and evaluation plan into a compelling, fundable narrative with a realistic budget.

Facilitator Bio
Kyle Sanchez brings nearly a decade of grants and contracts experience spanning both sides of the funding relationship— as a grant writer and compliance manager for nonprofit organizations, and as a contracts professional overseeing provider performance and funder accountability at an Area Agencies on Aging. He has managed compliance for programs funded by federal and state grants totaling over one million dollars, secured $247,124 in competitive and foundation grants for organizational priorities, and provided guidance that enabled one employer to recover $150,000 in funding forecasted to go unspent.

Currently serving as Planning Director at Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging, Kyle leads organization-wide strategic planning, program evaluation, and data-driven decision-making for a multi-county human services agency. He also served as a competitive RFP reviewer for Cowltiz-Wahkiakum Council of Governments, holds a Master's in Public Administration with a nonprofit concentration, and is appointed to both the City of Tacoma's Human Services Commission and Pierce County's Human Services Citizens' Advisory Board.

Queer Stability Fund – Quarterly Giving Circle Event
October 9th, 2026 • 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Queer Stability Foundation Co-Working • 1305 Tacoma Ave S Suite 320, Tacoma, WA

Join us for an evening of community, connection, and collective impact as the Queer Stability Fund hosts its quarterly in-person giving event at Queer Stability Foundation Co-Working, a proudly queer affirming space in the heart of Tacoma.

This event brings together LGBTQ+ community members and allies to nominate and award funding to a local LGBTQ+ business or entrepreneur making a meaningful difference in the South Sound. Funding amounts depend on membership contributions and can reach up to $10,000, with current projections between $1,000–$2,500.

How It Works
  • Membership: $100 per quarter. Open to all.
  • Voting: Voting rights are held by LGBTQI2S+ members of the Queer Stability Fund.
  • Nominations: Attendees are encouraged to arrive prepared to nominate a South Sound LGBTQ+ non profit and briefly speak about why they should receive the award.
  • Award Funding: Pooled member contributions are awarded at the end of the event. Becoming a member before or during the event increases the collective fund. Awardees must be an entity. Additional documentation like tax ID verification and other documents will be required in order to receive funds from Queer Stability Fund. In the event the primary winner does not qualify for the payout, the next placed voting awardee will be contacted. (Join the Queer Stability Fund via the GTCF link on the Queer Stability website. QueerStability.org)
Event Flow
6:00–7:00 PM – Arrival, networking, food and nominations
7:00 PM – Four nominations drawn at random
7:00–8:00 PM – Presentations & member voting

Community Support
As we gather in this affirming space, we encourage guests to come together and talk about all the things that are happening in the South Sound to support Queer people.
